学费的好处

There are three types of tuition benefits for Skidmore employees - 内部的学费 for self or dependents (taking a class at Skidmore), 外部的学费 (assistance with costs of course work at other institutions) and 学费交换 (enrollment at a college which participates in the Tuition Exchange Program.) 

Eligibility requirements for participation in the tuition benefits vary for employees. Faculty and Non-Union Staff should refer to the information about each program for the eligibility requirements. 工会雇员应该 refer to their appropriate contract for eligibility requirements.

What do I do if I am interested in taking courses at Skidmore?
Please follow the steps outlined below to enroll in a course and apply for a tuition 弃权:

• 联系 the 注册商's Office to ask for a list of courses for the upcoming term.
  
  
• Once 你 decide on a course, make sure 你r supervisor approves the scheduled time out-of-office and the make-up time during the same pay period.  工会雇员应该 make arrangements to have paid leave approved for courses taken during work hours.  你 would enroll for the course through the 注册商's Office.
  
  
• 下载 Internal Tuition Grant Application form from the 人力资源 website, complete the form and send to 人力资源 for approval of the tuition waiver.  Once approved, the form will be forwarded to the appropriate office so 你 will not receive a 比尔 for the course.  然而，你会， be responsible for a small fee which is approximately $25. 

What do I do if my dependents are interested in taking courses at Skidmore?
If 你r dependents are eligible for a tuition waiver, complete the Internal Tuition Grant Application form once 你r dependent has enrolled in a course.


What do I do if my dependent 孩子 is interested in enrolling at a school through the Tuition Exchange Program?
If 你r dependent 孩子 is eligible to apply for the program, visit the Tuition Exchange (TE)网站(www.tuitionexchange.org) for information on participating schools as well as for general TE information.  你 can also find general information on the Tuition Exchange Program at Tuition Exchange Program.  联系 the Financial 援助 Office for more detailed questions.

Please remember that this Program is not an entitlement.  你 must be awarded a Tuition Exchange opening at Skidmore, 你r 孩子 must be accepted at the institution of choice, and a Tuition Exchange opening must be available at the institution of choice.  你 can not participate in this program and the External Tuition Program for the same 孩子.


What do I do if my dependent 孩子 is interested in enrolling at a 2 or 4 year College with the External Tuition Benefit?
If 你 are eligible to participate in this benefit for 你r legally dependent 孩子ren, 下载 External Tuition Grant Application form from the 人力资源 website and return it to HR with a copy of 你r 孩子's tuition 比尔.  A check for a portion of the tuition will be processed and sent directly to 你.
